MDE considers moving LGBTQ topics to health curriculum: a BAD idea

My comments before the State Board of Education on their attempt to move gender and sexuality topics into the health curriculum (I swear it’s me, even though you can only see the back of my head).
Takeaways:
This is another bad idea from the Department of Education.
These topics should be covered exclusively at home.
This plan will pit teachers, who are forced to defend the policy, against parents. Rank and file teachers don’t want that.
This crowds out other learning.
This puts school districts at legal and financial risk, as parents will sue if their requests to opt out of these topics are denied.
This will exacerbate the decline in enrollment, as parents who don’t want these subjects taught by someone other than themselves will disenroll their children and choose other options.
Oh, and Nikki Snyder and Tom McMillan need help, badly.
